There was a lot happening at NVCS this week! It seemed suddenly everyone wanted their picture in the newsletter. My red camera has become a familiar sight, and I am asked by several students everyday for me to either take their picture or to borrow the camera for their own observations.
It seems to me that every time NVCS visits Carolyn's farm, it turns into one our favorite field trips of the year.
Art Piece Of The Week.
NVCS to start composting!
A big thanks to Eddy and Ruth's father, Phill Becker, for helping our school set this up. In this picture, Kara is meeting with Centre County Recycles and the Borough of State College. They are providing us with bins for our composting.
Carolyn's Class Reads Their Monkey Reports!
This Thursday, Carolyn's student's read their monkey reports to Verna's class, and parents. Each child had a mask, and a stuffed version of the monkey in their report. They all did GREAT.
Joyce's Class Performs Our 1st Annual Fashion Show for Charity!!
All of the clothing was purchased at The Goodwill. Each student had their own design element challenge, and had to create artwork responding to the challenge. Afterwards, several students chose to model outfits meeting the same challenge. All of the "models" did a fabulous job.
Guest photographer, Tenaye.
This week I asked Tenaye, an 8th grader, to be my student photographer. She chose to photograph our school having fun outside in the beautiful weather we had this week. In my opinion, these are her best pictures.
Interested in Adopting a Kitten?
In case anyone has not heard, Matt became the temporary parent to two gorgeous kittens. Guess what, he's allergic! He is too kind, as we all know, and is keeping them until a permanent home can be found. They are both females. If you are interested let him know. email@example.com
Next Week's Field Trip, Climb Mount Nittany!
